I remember Linda as a sweet person from homeroom for three years and Merrill's class in our senior year. She was still the a sweet person the last I spoke with her and I will miss her smile. God bless.
To clarify, Linda passed away over a year ago. It was thanks to the 50th Reunion directory that we were able to renew our friendship that had begun in grade school. I am grateful that were able to get together when she came to McLean to visit her sister. Below is the notice I sent to our class reunion web site at that time:
Linda Bockhold passed away in New York City on September 21, 2013 after a valiant battle with cancer. Her sister, Marilyn White, called me yesterday and asked that I let the high school know.
I am sure Marilyn would be glad to hear from anyone who remembers Linda:

Although I couldn't find an obituary in either the New York Times or the Miami Herald, I did turn up a link to an article about Linda in her role of visiting nurse:
Linda and I had an art class sitting at the same table together senior year. We had lots of laughs. I did see her once after graduation and then we reconneced a few years before she passed away. She looked just as she did way back when--only the hair color changed, but the face was the same. I learned about her family and her work and her fight with cancer. She was a sweet and loving person. I miss her still.

Really sorry to hear about Linda's passing. She was a good friend. Majorette's will miss her. We were so young then.
